2020 Program Planning Lunch and Centennial Kickoff

“Program” is a sweeping term in League lingo.  It refers to everything from the positions we’ve adopted and the studies we undertake, to the events we choose to sponsor.  For that reason, “program planning” is fundamental to ensuring that our League remains grounded in our grassroots and true to our mission.  Every year, we rely on our members to identify program activities that address topics of concern locally and to evaluate positions the League has adopted in the past.

This year, we will consider both our local League positions and those that have been adopted nationally.  In addition, the LWVUS Board has recommended concurrence with a position on electoral systems which was derived from positions held by a number of state Leagues.  Please take time to review these documents and bring your comments, questions and opinions to our meeting, as well as ideas for new studies or activities.

Before we call it a day, we'll bring you up to speed on plans for celebrating the centennial anniversary of the League of Women Voters and the passage of the 19th Amendment in this, the Year of the Woman.

Union Jack's offers the convenience of an ample pub menu and separate checks, as well as a private room, where we can mingle, munch and make merry before taking on the important task of program planning. There is limited parking but there are abundant covered spots nearby at Whole Foods.  Please consider walking the block if you're able and leaving the lot spaces for those that are less mobile.  Thank you!
