Restoring the Chesapeake Bay: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
Bay Champion Gerald Winegrad
Sunday, April 23 at 2 p.m. Busch Library, 1410 West St, Annapolis
Former Maryland Senator Gerald Winegrad has devoted himself to environmental causes for 53 years. His presentation will examine the results of 39 years of personal involvement in formal efforts to restore the Chesapeake Bay.
Bay restoration is based on limiting nutrients and sediment that are causing dead zones and living resources to decline. Mr. Winegrad will pull no punches in revealing the inconvenient truths on the issues. Learn from this expert insider about the successes and failures toward these goals, and how we as individuals can take action to ensure a healthier Bay. This is an event you won’t want to miss.
Mr. Winegrad is a life-long Marylander, environmental attorney, former state senator, member of the Chesapeake Bay Commission, and a graduate school professor—teaching a course he wrote on Bay restoration.
