LWVAAC has helped new citizens register to vote since Historic Annapolis began hosting an Independence Day naturalization ceremony in 2006. During a patriotic celebration on the grounds of the historic William Paca house in Annapolis, ceremony participants take the Oath of Allegiance to the United States of America, proudly witnessed by family, friends, and community members of all ages.

League volunteers are stationed at a registration table near the entrance, where they can greet participants, answer questions, and assist with the voter registration process.
