Special Elections vs. Appointments
LWVAAC's third monthly meeting of the year will be held on Wednesday, April 8 at the Southern District Police Department, 35 Stepneys Lane, Edgewater, MD 21037. LWVMD Executive Director Nikki Tyree will join us to discuss special elections vs. appointments as a means of filling vacancies in elected positions.
Nikki Tyree is executive director of the League of Women Voters of Maryland, a nonpartisan organization that works to empower voters and defend democracy through informed and active participation in government and education around major public policy issues.
The LWVAAC mission of championing voting rights and supporting democracy has never been more important. Growing our membership and engaging the community is critical in meeting this mission, and you can help by inviting friends and family to join you at our monthly meetings!
