Ranked Choice Voting

LWVAAC's third monthly meeting of the year will be held on Wednesday, March 11 at the Southern District Police Department, 35 Stepneys Lane, Edgewater, MD 21037. Guest speaker Josh Kurtz, will discuss ranked choice voting.

Josh Kurtz is a veteran chronicler of Maryland politics and government as well as founder of Maryland Matters, a 9-year-old nonprofit news website that covers Maryland government and politics. He began covering the State House in 1995 for The Gazette newspapers in Montgomery County and has been writing about state and local politics ever since. He was an editor at Roll Call, the Capitol Hill newspaper, for eight years, and for eight years was the editor of E&E Daily, which covers energy and environmental policy on Capitol Hill. Kurtz has also worked as a reporter in New Mexico, New York and Wisconsin, and spent three years in an apprentice program for the New York Times. Josh has a BA in History from the University of Wisconsin and an MS in Journalism from Columbia University.
